Lakhimpur: Students in Uttar Pradesh will now benefit from AI-supported education not just in Engineering, but also in disciplines like Business, Health and Life Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Legal Studies. With global-standard infrastructure, industry collaborations, and expert mentorship available from day one, students will become industry-ready from the start and will not have to struggle for employment.This was stated byProf. (Dr.) Thipendra P. Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, during a press conference held in Lakhimpur.
He informed that Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh is committed to providing students with mentorship from industry experts and world-class infrastructure from the very beginning. “Our objective is not merely to confer degrees but to equip students with practical knowledge and new skills that will enable them to compete at the global level,” he said.
Chandigarh University, UP has established India’s first AI-augmented multidisciplinary campus at the State Capital Region (SCR) region of Unnao, located along the Kanpur–Lucknow highway, with an investment of ₹2,500 crore. The university aims to provide industry-collaborated and future-oriented education. Prof. Singh shared that this is the first private campus in the country where every program is integrated with AI so that students are industry-ready from day one and can compete globally. In line with this, CU UP has also formed a Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) in partnership with over 100 national and international companies.
On this occasion, Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh also launched its admission and scholarship portal CUCET 2025. Prof. Singh informed that scholarships worth up to ₹40 crore will be awarded through this portal to support meritorious and economically weaker students in pursuing higher education in emerging technologies. Additionally, a ₹3 crore ‘C.V. Raman Scholarship’ will be awarded to students aspiring for careers in scientific research.
He added that the CUCET 2025 portal (https://cucet.cuchd.in) is now open for admissions and registration for the 2025–26 academic session. Prof. Singh also mentioned that Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh is recognized by the UGC and listed among the state’s public universities.
Dr. Ajay Yadav, Registrar, Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh stated that students will benefit from 50 future-oriented, industry-collaborated undergraduate and postgraduate programs across six major streams: Engineering, Business, Health & Life Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Legal Studies. All programs will be AI-supported. Notably, Rabbit AI, a leading AI company, will establish five Centres of Excellence—its first such collaboration with a private university in India.
He further informed that the university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoUs with 23 renowned tech and industry giants including Microsoft, Google, IBM, Quick Heal, SAS, KPMG, PwC, and NSE. Under these partnerships, students in programs like B.Tech, MBA, MCA, and BCA will receive industry-integrated training, hands-on experience through live projects, access to research labs, and guaranteed campus placement support. These programs include cutting-edge subjects such as AI & Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and FinTech.
Dr. Ajay Yadav added that CU UP has already begun preparing a future-ready workforce even before the start of the academic session by designing industry-ready curricula in collaboration with experts and academicians. As part of this effort, CU UP recently hosted an AI Bootcamp in partnership with Microsoft, where over 300 students participated and gained practical exposure to real-time technologies and solutions. This initiative reflects CU UP’s education policy, which is fully skill-oriented and future-ready.
